Hello Idol friends! As warned, I am out of town this week introducing our baby girl to family and friends, so I was unable to provide a recap. I'm sure I will find time to watch the episode and I already have a strong feeling who is going home. So feel free to read on to see my prediction as well as a link to an interesting interview.
Elimination Pick: Alex Preston - I think we've known for awhile Caleb and Jena were the favorites for the final 2. If we have learned anything about this new voting system is that while it's definitely a better format, it has eliminated the element of surprise so far! Things could change, but I'm thinking probably not.
The one thing Alex DOES have going for him is that he plays guitar, and we know that the trend for Idol is that a male guitarist is usually a favorite to win these days. But, I think this voting system corrected that issue. We shall see!
Since I can't recap this week, I thought I'd add an interview with this year's showrunner Per Blankens. It definitely addresses all of the pluses and minuses we've seen this year!

Just finished watching and I stand by my pick. Even with strained vocal cords Caleb was a showman up there and earned his spot. Alex was great but someone has to go.
